JEE Advanced 2022: 93 Top Rankers to Opt Computer Science in  IIT Bombay

93 top candidates of the top 100 JEE Advanced rank-holders(2022)  have secured a seat in the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay. According to statistics available with Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSA), New Delhi: 69 continuing the trend of past several years. Of these, 68 have chosen Computer Science Engineering  and 1  has opted for "Engineering Physics" in the first round of seat allocation for  seats. In 1961 Parliament decreed the IITs as `Institutes of National Importance`. Since then, IIT Bombay  has grown  leaps and bounds  to emerge as one of the top technical universities in the world. The institute is recognised worldwide as a leader in the field of engineering education and research. Many IIT alumni  who are not from IIT Bombay  believe that  reasons why IIT Bombay has become a traditional choice of the JEE toppers is the coaching class legacy. Many of the faculty members at the famous engineering coaching institutes of Kota were IIT Bombay alumni and promoted it as the best IITs. The average salary stood at INR 25 LPA. During the placement drive of 2021, a total of 1261 offers were made  and  among these 1207 offers were accepted. A total of 1150 students were placed  and the placement percentage was 83.58%. A total of 113 pre placement offers were made. IIT Bombay provides 100% placement, therefore there is a greater demand for IITB.

 In 2021, 62 of the top 100 Joint Entrance Exam JEE Advanced rank-holders got into IIT Mumbai, up from 58 in 2020.   62 candidates among the top 100 had joined IIT Bombay in 2019 while the number was 59 in 2018.
